Pastor's Corner |

“A PASTOR SITS…”
A Pastor sits in the corner of the room looking outward to the natural world
around him. It’s not a bad world; it’s not a good world. It’s just the world.
An Apostle sits on the balcony of his hotel room on the top floor of the local
town. It’s not a bad town; it’s not a good town. It’s just another town.
A Prophet sits alone in the middle of a quiet forest looking from side to side;
listening to the stillness of the forest. It’s not a great forest; it’s not
really a bad forest. It’s just like the last forest. He likes the forest, but
it’s not that important.
Today three souls waited; alone, quiet, wondering, hesitant, and slightly
insecure; yet, willingly waiting. They knew that the wait would worth it.
Waiting is never easy. Waiting is never fun. Waiting is dull. That was for sure!
Yet, they knew the drab, natural, ever-so-earthly curtain would soon be pulled
back to reveal the true scenes of reality. Their spirits knew that the “curtain”
is never the real event. Every stage must have a curtain to give time for the
Props Master, and the innumerable company of assistants to set the stage for the
next act, the next script soon to be played out with all earnestness. The
curtain just means ‘Wait’. It never means that there is nothing going on! Selah.
Today a Pastor heard the sound of The Narrator speaking quietly in his ear.
He wrote down every WORD, every spoken thought. He knew he dared not lose even
one jot, one tittle, one sense. He knew this moment in time would never come
back this way again. It would be different the next time. He wrote.
Today an Apostle felt heavenly Music enter his heart’s room with gentle waves.
But what he saw was the orchestra of souls that would soon come together to form
yet another worship choir for the Master. It would be different than the last
choir, yet similar. It would be wonderful. He felt alive once again with
purpose.
Today a Prophet saw the veil between Heaven and Earth part down the middle.
He saw to a place where time was a steady stream from the past to the present to
the future; where the Sovereign abides not in finite time. He saw the people in
micro-histories and macro-histories, and he saw HIM like a bird flying in and
out of the crowds -- playing tag with the people. All they ever felt was the
touch of a wing tip and the whoosh of the wind as HIS wing flapped passing them
by. Those lives would never be the same. A Prophet saw, and he prayed, “Let it
to be!”
Today around the world alarm clocks went off in urgent desperation telling all
that slumbered that it was time to go back into the great machine of life. The
human race stirred thinking it was just going to be another day; maybe a good
day, maybe a bad day. Hopefully not that same day as yesterday…
But alone in a room a Pastor thanked God for his Wisdom…
And high on a balcony an Apostle thanked God for his Grace…
And the Prophet thanked God for letting him see His Face and plans…
And they smiled; knowing that this day was not going to be like yesterday.
And Jesus looked down on the new day and said, “Yes, It is very good.”
