Knowing
this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after
their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since
the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the
beginning of the creation. (KJV)-- 2 Peter 3:3-4 |
OK! The year
2000 has finally arrived. The end of the world did not begin on that
fanciful/frightful moment of midnight Millennium Eve. In the light of the
morning, all still seems to be the way it was. Business as usual. Nothing
new. Nothing different. Right? |
Well, not
exactly. The scoffers of religion are now going to have a kind of field
day against all believers. Judgment seems to be an unreality. Evil seems
to still exist all around the world, and now one has pulled the cosmic
plug out of the wall of existence. We eat. We drink. We marry. We bury. We
continue on. And the scoffers will say ‘See we told you so! We told you
that there is no Judgment Day!’ |
And now the
unbelievers will begin to build ‘a new world order’ in more earnest.
And now the greedy money-making conquerors will begin to pull the net of
global economy together even tighter. And now the doubters and the
skeptics will be able to breath a little better when they sleep at night;
not that they would admit that they had some troublesome nights as the
clock ticked down. And to quote a Christmas song ‘All is calm, all is
bright...’ But is it? |
God sits on
His throne silently watching. He waits. He has His chariots ready, and He
has His weapons on board. He has His blessings near the door waiting for
the messengers who will deliver them to arrive. He is patient. He is
loving waiting with long-suffering of Heart. NOW He will see what mankind
will do! |
If humanity
dives deeply into the gutter of depravity then He will come ‘as a thief
in the night’ to them. If the saints draw closer to Him, then He will
come as a Father to them. |
BUT BE
ASSURED, NOTHING IS TRULY CONTINUING ON AS IT WAS BEFORE "Y2K".
The clock of creation, and the Creator, is clicking -- and IT is
programmed to be ‘Right On Time’. Prophecy will be fulfilled. Wait and
Watch AND PRAY. |

| The man stood in the corner,
his back against the two walls of the room, waiting in dreaded
anticipation of what would happen next. The red dragon, filled with hate
and fiery heat, flared into the face of the horrified human staring back
at him. It was a stand off with neither the victim nor his pursuer knowing
for those few fragile seconds who was going to be the victor when the last
blow would be struck. The clock on the wall stopped; breathing it’s last
sound. Silence filled the room. As if this was the most important moment
in the history of mankind all of creation seemed to pause, holding it’s
breath too. And then it happened. The man woke up. |
| Bolting upright and jumping
from the bed to the floor in a single motion, he froze as soon as feet hit
ground. And then he realized the truth; there in the midst of the darkness
of night. It was only dream. I dark shadow in a specters world. A very bad
dream. With a sigh of relief he mopped the rivers of sweat from his
forehead and shook of the drops with his right hand. "I’m glad that’s
over", he thought to himself. Then he heard it. |
| A voice spoke softly,
hissingly in his mind. In slow drawn out carefulness it said: "Weellll?
What is your decision?" The man wasn’t sure what the question meant
at first or why the voice would be asking the question. He dug deeply into
the recesses of his subconscious and pulled up from the tar pit of his
dream the meaning. Yes, that was the original question. He HAD heard it in
his dream. The question was: "Do you really believe what you thought
you saw yesterday? Will you give it up and say that it was a hallucination
because of your tormented state? Let me set you free from this
responsibility, this burden. It really didn’t haappenn... did it?" |
| Then he felt it. Something
strange. Something cold. in his hand. He stood puzzled that something
should be in his hand. It seemed foreign to him somehow but he had to know
what it was. He turned his head to look and ... THUMP. |
| His head hit the small wooden
table, that he had propped up earlier in the evening, next to the stool
upon which he sat.. Started and shocked his head snapped back in recoil
from both the banging of the head and the surprise of the awareness.
"How strange," he whispered.. Then he picked up his hand, with
the writing instrument in it, and began again for the 3d time that night
to put down on papyrus that which he knew to be true. |
| John to the seven churches
which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and
which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are
before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and
the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.
Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And
hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father... |
| Somewhere in the darkness a
dragon melted to the ground like putty on a hot day; then transformed into
a hissing snake and slithered away. But the man never heard him go. He
just kept writing and writing and writing. |

| The other day I was reading a fact
sheet and it said: "More than a million Earths would fit inside the
Sun". That got me thinking about how LARGE things are when God does
things. |
| God created the universes; it is so
large that even our strongest telescopes cannot find the depths of outer
space. |
| God created the molecular universe;
it is so minuscule and perfect that even our best physicists haven’t
been able to get to the bottom of the of the invisible space. |
| God created the oceans of our planet
and made them so deep into the earth, and under so much pressure, that to
this day we have not been able to plumb the depths of the ocean. |
| God created the "DNA"
structure which is the code to creating all living flesh on planet earth;
and the permutations are astronomical in their possible combinations. |
| God said, ‘Let there be
light", and there was light! The wavelengths of light, the
frequencies of sound, and the many kinds of measurable natural phenomenon
in the universe all exist because "God said". And they are ALL
beyond our comprehension. |
| So, should it be any surprise to us
that "the love of God" is so deep and so unknowable that is
seems to be beyond our grasp? |
| Should it be such a shock to us find
out one day that the immensity of the heavenly realm (with our mansions)
"have not even entered in to the heart of man" to be known of
him? |
| Is it so hard to accept the fact that
God’s intent for us interacting in the Spirit with the Charismata
"gifts" is so far beyond anything that we have seen in 2000
years of church history? |
| Did you really think that God was
going to be defeated by a bunch of cursing, violent, mocking, finite
beings; such as, demons and evil men? GOD IS BIG! GOD DOES BIG! GOD LOVES
BIG! GET USED TO IT!! |
